A year of blogging, and still at it

I started this blog a year ago as a way to collect some of our favorite recipes, and the stories, old and new, that go with some of them. It's been a fair bit of work, but fun, too. Still, I might not have had the energy to keep it going, except that Dylan was obviously making a lot of use out of it, cooking many of the recipes (texting me pictures of the successes) and even asking me to post about other favorites that hadn't made it onto the blog yet. I hope that Cass and Brad will get just as much use out of it when they are out of the house and cooking for themselves (and their friends and loved ones), too.

So here's looking forward to the next year of recipes and stories at Use a Kitchen Scale. Let me know if you have any comments or requests, as I'm always happy to oblige, knowing that someone is out there actually reading and making use of this. Since it all started with Brad's birthday dinner requests, including Uncle Clint's Mac & Cheese (which we had again this year), here is a picture of the One-Bowl Chocolate Cake I made for his birthday last week:
